What to Expect During the Treatment
1. Consultation: Before any treatment, you’ll have a consultation with a doctor. They’ll assess your skin, discuss your goals, and determine the best approach for you. Don’t hesitate to ask questions!
2. Preparation: On the day of your treatment, you’ll be asked to arrive without make up. The area will be cleansed and prepared for injection. Your doctor will mark out the areas they will be treating.
3. The Injection Process: The actual injections usually take only a few minutes. You might feel a slight pinch, but most people find it quite tolerable, with some describing it as pain free.
4. Post-Treatment Care: After the procedure, you will be advised to avoid strenuous exercise, excessive sun exposure, excessive heat and touching the treated areas for a short period. You also should not use any active skincare such as retinoids for 48 hours pre or post-procedure.
Results and Longevity
Results are often noticeable within a few days, with full effects visible in about two weeks. Botox typically lasts around three to six months.
